Social networking app O hi has successfully raised Rs 8 crore (approximately $1 million) in its pre-Series A funding round. This round was led by existing investors JIIF and included participation from several notable angel investors.
The newly acquired funds will be utilized to enhance the app’s product offerings and integrate an AI-based profiling system, aiming to provide a more personalized user experience.
Founded by Adeeti and Rupal, O hi distinguishes itself by facilitating real-life human interaction in shared physical spaces. The app creates digital rooms in cafes, airports, and hotels, aiming to form networks of fame, stardom, and monetary value in the real world.
The Welsh Government has extended an invitation to O hi to establish its platform in the UK. In support of this expansion, the government is providing resources and support to help the app penetrate the UK market. A soft launch in the UK is scheduled for July 2024.
O hi is focused on creating digital chatrooms in various physical locations such as cafes, airport lounges, and hotels, to build real-world communities. The startup claims to have seen remarkable growth, doubling its user base in the past 45 days—a user base that previously took 24 months to acquire. Currently, post-beta, the app boasts over 800,000 users.
With the new funding, O hi is poised to hit its next milestone, continuing its mission to blend digital interaction with real-world experiences and expanding its user base even further.
